For nearly 30 years, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has driven the Middle East into war and destruction. The man is a powder keg of violence. Throughout all the wars that he has championed, Netanyahu has always dreamed of the big one: to defeat and overthrow the Iranian Government. His long-sought war, just launched, might just get us all killed in a nuclear Armageddon, unless Netanyahu is stopped.
Netanyahu’s fixation on war goes back to his extremist mentors, Ze’ev Jabotinsky, Yitzhak Shamir, and Menachem Begin. The older generation believed that Zionists should use whatever violence–wars, assassinations, terror–is needed to achieve their aims of eliminating any Palestinian claim to a homeland.
The founders of Netanyahu’s political movement, the Likud, called for exclusive Zionist control over all of what had been British Mandatory Palestine. At the start of the British Mandate in the early 1920s, the Muslim and Christian Arabs constituted roughly 87% of the population and owned ten times more land than the Jewish population. As of 1948, the Arabs still outnumbered the Jews roughly two to one. Nonetheless, the founding charter of Likud (1977) declared that “between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty.” The now infamous chant, “from the River to the Sea,” which is characterized as anti-Semitic, turns out to be the anti-Palestinian rallying call of the Likud.
The challenge for Likud was how to pursue its maximalist aims despite their blatant illegality under international law and morality, both of which call for a two-state solution.
In 1996, Netanyahu and his American advisors devised a “Clean Break” strategy. They advocated that Israel would not withdraw from the Palestinian lands captured in the 1967 war in exchange for regional peace. Instead, Israel would reshape the Middle East to its liking. Crucially, the strategy envisioned the US as the main force to achieve these aims—waging wars in the region to dismantle governments opposed to Israel’s dominance over Palestine. The US was called upon to fight wars on Israel’s behalf.
The Clean Break strategy was effectively carried out by the US and Israel after 9/11. As NATO Supreme Commander General Wesley Clark revealed, soon after 9/11, the US planned to “attack and destroy the governments in seven countries in five years—starting with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.”
The first of the wars, in early 2003, was to topple the Iraqi government. Plans for further wars were delayed as the US became mired in Iraq. Still, the US supported Sudan’s split in 2005, Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 2006, and Ethiopia’s incursion into Somalia that same year. In 2011, the Obama administration launched CIA operation Timber Sycamore against Syria and, with the UK and France, overthrew Libya’s government through a 2011 bombing campaign. Today, these countries lie in ruins, and many are now embroiled in civil wars.
Netanyahu was a cheerleader of these wars of choice–either in public or behind the scenes–together with his neocon allies in the U.S. Government including Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, Victoria Nuland, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Richard Perle, Elliott Abrams, and others.
Testifying in the U.S. Congress in 2002, Netanyahu pitched for the disastrous war in Iraq, declaring “If you take out Saddam, Saddam’s regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region.” He continued, “And I think that people sitting right next door in Iran, young people, and many others, will say the time of such regimes, of such despots is gone.” He also falsely told Congress, “There is no question whatsoever that Saddam is seeking, is working, is advancing towards to the development of nuclear weapons.”
The slogan to remake a “New Middle East” provides the slogan for these wars. Initially stated in 1996 through “Clean Break,” it was popularized by Secretary Condoleezza Rice in 2006. As Israel was brutally bombarded Lebanon, Rice stated:
“What we’re seeing here, in a sense, is the growing — the birth pangs of a new Middle East and whatever we do we have to be certain that we’re pushing forward to the new Middle East not going back to the old one.”
In September 2023, Netanyahu presented at UN General Assembly a map of the “New Middle East” completely erasing a Palestinian state. In September 2024, he elaborated on this plan by showing two maps: one part of the Middle East a “blessing,” and the other–including Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran–a curse, as he advocated regime change in the latter countries.
Israel’s war on Iran is the final move in a decades-old strategy. We are witnessing the culmination of decades of extremist Zionist manipulation of US foreign policy.
The premise of Israel’s attack on Iran is the claim that Iran is on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons. Such a claim is fatuous since Iran has repeatedly called for negotiations precisely to remove the nuclear option in return for an end to the decades of US sanctions.
Since 1992, Netanyahu and his supporters have claimed that Iran will become a nuclear power “in a few years.” In 1995, Israeli officials and their US backers declared a 5-year timeline. In 2003, Israel’s Director of Military Intelligence said that Iran will be a nuclear power “by the summer of 2004.” In 2005, the head of Mossad said that Iran could build the bomb in less than 3 years. In 2012, Netanyahu claimed at the United Nations that “it’s only a few months, possibly a few weeks before they get enough enriched uranium for the first bomb.” And on and on.
This 30-year-plus pattern of shifting deadlines has marked a deliberate strategy, not a failure in prophecy. The claims are propaganda; there is always an “existential threat.” More importantly, there is Netanyahu’s phony claim that negotiations with Iran are useless.
Iran has repeatedly said that it does not want a nuclear weapon and that it has long been prepared to negotiate. In October 2003, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a fatwa forbidding the production and use of nuclear arms—a ruling later officially cited by Iran at an IAEA meeting in Vienna in August 2005 and referenced since as a religious and legal barrier to pursuing nuclear weapons.
Even for those skeptical of Iran’s intentions, Iran has consistently advocated for a negotiated agreement supported by independent international verification. In contrast, the Zionist lobby has opposed any such settlements, urging the US to maintain sanctions and reject deals that would allow strict IAEA monitoring in exchange for lifting sanctions.
In 2016, the Obama Administration, together with the UK, France, Germany, China, and Russia, reached the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran—a landmark agreement to strictly monitor Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. Yet, under relentless pressure from Netanyahu and the Zionist lobby, President Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018. Predictably, when Iran responded by expanding its uranium enrichment, it was blamed for violating an agreement that the US itself had abandoned. The double-standard and propaganda is hard to miss.
On April 11, 2021, Israel’s Mossad attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz. Following the attack, on April 16, Iran announced that it would increase its uranium enrichment further, as bargaining leverage, while repeatedly appealing for renewed negotiations on a deal like the JCPOA. The Biden Administration rejected all such negotiations.
At the start of his second term, Trump agreed to open a new negotiation with Iran. Iran pledged to renounce nuclear arms and to be subject to IAEA inspections but reserved the right to enrich uranium for civilian purposes. The Trump Administration appeared to agree to this point but then reversed itself. Since then, there have been five rounds of negotiations, with both sides reporting progress on each occasion.
The sixth round was ostensibly to take place on Sunday, June 15. Instead, Israel launched a preemptive war on Iran on June 12. Trump confirmed that the US knew of the attack in advance, even as the administration was speaking publicly of the upcoming negotiations.
Israel’s attack was made not only in the midst of negotiations that were making progress, but days before a scheduled UN Conference on Palestine that would have advanced the cause of the two-state solution. That conference has now been postponed.
Israel’s attack on Iran now threatens to escalate to a full-fledged war that draws in the US and Europe on the side of Israel and Russia and perhaps Pakistan on the side of Iran. We could soon see several nuclear powers pitted against each other and dragging the world closer to nuclear annihilation. The Doomsday Clock is at 89 seconds to midnight, the closest to nuclear Armageddon since the clock was launched in 1947.
Over the past 30 years, Netanyahu and his US backers have destroyed or destabilized a 4,000-km swath of countries stretching across North Africa, the Horn of Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean, and Western Asia. Their aim has been to block a Palestinian State by overthrowing governments supporting the Palestinian cause. The world deserves better than this extremism. More than 180 countries in the UN have called for the two-state solution and regional stability. That makes more sense than Israel bringing the world to the brink of nuclear Armageddon in pursuit of its illegal and extremist aims.

Nothing is said about Israel’s nuclear arsenal or power, as it isn’t even a member of the IAEA. According to Thierry Meyssan (volteairenet.org), the trigger was precisely the discovery of documents on Israel’s nuclear development and collusion with the IAEA. And the head of this organization, the scoundrel Argentine Grossi, indicates that once there is a pause in the bombing, he may visit Iran to review the risks posed by Iran’s nuclear facilities. This is about plugging the rotten hole of Israel and its Western partners. The solution to the problem isn’t about the capture or downfall of a man (or a rabid animal), but about ending the existence of a Western Zionist state and/or project.

I keep reading that certain Christian groups support Israel because a greater Israel has to do with biblical prophecy or something or other eschatological, but it always occurs to me that these Christians have probably got in mind some peaceful and painless process where no-one gets hurt. I doubt that many would support a brutal war of conquest.
This is an excellent precise account of how Netanyahu in his insane unleashed position has lied to the Israeli people, and the US Congress, about Iraq and about Iran having nuclear weapons, when Israel has had them for years.
What is totally remarkable, to me, is how weak the US has been, in allowing Netanyahu and the Israel-Jewish lobby to take over the Congress and the executive branch, while the United States has become the main western hostage of the State of Israel. Plus, due to US veto power in the UN, against any resolutions against Israel, so is the UN.
We live with national and international governments so corrupt and evil, that to unwind the clock, would be much more difficult than to create a whole new Constitution and International Charter for humanity.

Another aspect of jewish mental illness that can easily be discounted is the notion that their “god” gave them the land of Palestine; most settler jews themselves being atheists. This is but another example of mental illness that permeates jewish beliefs. For one, “god” is not a real estate agent.
No jewish-run society has lasted beyond 80 years or so. Jews are incapable of having a government or political system that is based on equal rights for all. THAT is the jewish downfall, insisting that jews belong on top, lording it over “lesser beings”–gentiles (goyim). Such societies do not last too long. The (illegal) state of israel is approaching 80 years. It will be “good riddance” to that morally defective attempt at imposing, keeping and running a “jewish state”.
Jews are parasites who latch on to viable gentile (goyim) societies and eventually devour them from within. Observe the United States of America in which almost all politicians have been co-opted by the jewish lobby (AIPAC, ADL, HIAS) and other jewish lobbying institutions.

Murdering innocent men, women, children, toddlers, newborns, every blade of grass and buildings, total destruction of viable societies with arrogance and impunity is an extreme example of mental illness among jews that must be dealt with.

Posing with their victims, using them as “human shields”, and even taking bets with each other on what extremity or eye they will aim for, especially when shooting children. The present-day example of IOF (israel occupation forces) troops firing on starving Gazans who are attempting to receive food aid and recording their sick demented exploits is but the latest example of jewish mental illness.
Genocide is a basic tenet of judaism and cannot be divorced from that bronze-age cult. Judaism must radically change or face total obliteration. There is no other way.

After all, had it not been for Russia, Syria would have fallen much faster.

This article, while full of what I consider very valuable data, seems very inaccurate to me when it specifically comes to the statement that Netanyahu will cause the nuclear end of all human life on Earth. As I understand it, no Gentile that possesses nuclear weapons possess the psychological genetic ability to sacrifice themselves for the “Greater Ethno-Spiritual/Religious Good” by launching their nuclear weapons. Only the Israelites have this innate ability, and they are in fact the only ethnic group to have ever launched nuclear weapons, specifically at Japan.
What I conjecture will happen is that USA will very soon enter the war and finish off Iran’s government, but perhaps they will not outright genocide the entire Persian race, but instead install a Persian “puppet” who will join the West in the war against Russia/China/North Korea/Venezuela/Cuba. Once Iran’s regime change is carried out (or they are just outright 100% genocided), all their oil could be sold to all of Russia’s customers at half-price, thus putting Russia out of international business, which means much less income for them, meaning they will have to greatly cut the amount of money they spend on their military, meaning the quicker they will be defeated by West. Plus, West can saturate Iran with Western military bases with all their weapons aimed at Russia and China. The current Ukranian and Iranian war is giving the West very valuable data on how conventional weapons can be successfully used to defeat opponents, such as the use of drones.
I would predict that China would be even easier to defeat than Russia, since China does not even fight whatsoever. This near-zero margin of error forces airport security to be hypersensitive. They cannot rely solely on statistical probability or stereotypes, even if those stereotypes have some basis in past events like the “angry Arab youth” profile.
Remember that after carrying out 911, Israel successfully cast Arabs as the perpetrators of terrorism. Hence the stereotypical belief that terrorists are muslims.
But because airport security is also aware that relying solely on the “stereotypical profile” creates a massive, exploitable vulnerability, measures are put in place to ensure no chances are taken.
This is because adversaries can adapt and use operatives who don’t fit the profile. For instance, now that your favorite jewish state FA’d with Iran and is now FO, Meamjojo, Yababa and Carney might decide to use an operative who doesn’t fit the typical terrorist profile.

I agree with much of your analysis, however, we need to clarify a few things. Firstly, what is an American citizen? Look, I understand the Jews’ alarm over the rising storm (that may even turn into a tsunami) of hatred against Jews that doesn’t take any prisoners– it’s “Kill all the jews.” I understand siding with one’s own in times of grave peril.

Because by talking about and condemning, (for instance) ‘Sabra and Shatila’ or Operation Cast Lead, and so forth, they can express their outrage, (as everyone should), at those events, but the people responsible are mostly dead or shadowy, and what’s more, is that everyone knows who’s responsible for those events, just like Deir Yassin, for instance.

And 9/11 for me, is the most significant event of our times. It is the event that has permanently altered forever, (as it was intended to), the trajectory of our world. It is the event responsible for the intentional death of millions, and the (ongoing) destruction of entire nations, and the displacement and maiming and orphaning of untold millions upon millions. Not to mention the treasonous evisceration of the American people’s Constitutional rights.
And so I’ve come to regard a person’s willingness to look at that event, with all the fortitude they can muster, as the determining factor for a person’s intellectual and academic integrity.
If they don’t care about that event, and have never given it much consideration, because they’ve accepted the government’s explanation, isn’t that a cause for concern?
For me it is. For me, if a person who purports to be thoughtful, and engaged, and intellectually honest and curious, but has no interest in the most significant event of our lives, I tend to be dismissive of that person’s role as a truth-teller who might edify the rest of us as to what ails our world.
Which brings me back to Lynn Margulis. A Jew, a scientist, but most of all, an intellectually curious person of integrity who was willing to tell the truth about 9/11, at least in the context of Building Seven, which is the most significant aspect to that world-changing event.

Women’s liberation never liberated most women. Professional couples earn more money but many of their children are deprived. Sure they have all the stuff which supposedly makes life better but these couples have no real time for their children. Many women are choosing to remain childless.
On the other hand the poorest are rendered without a social superstructure which cautions against negative behaviours. And ironically many of those whose jobs involve advising and remedying the consequences of being poor, say, as teachers, or social workers, psychologists, or politicians, or writers of self help books are women whose own lives are hardly something to emulate — which they seem unable to fix.
Meanwhile our children are watching and consuming information which renders so many of them socially inept and dis-functional. Many seem unable to think outside the box — like their parents.
We are confronted by a tsunami of advertising rendering the consumption of these manifold delights as uplifting — what is not said is that the aggregate of this onslaught renders so many of us miserable.
In social situations there is less and less easy conversation and genuine laughter. Advertising includes the message that consumption is a virtue and that said consumption ought to be shared with others at every opportunity. One consequences is aspirational deprivation — and in many cases unrelieved debt.
So today we gamble, drink alcohol to excess, and consume as much as we can manage — while seeking expensive professional help from the so called educated — who themselves know the theory of everything and understand practically nothing.
They know very little about the how, why, when, where, what and whom they are who are are behind their dysfunctional society or they simply ignore it — the cause of this abdication of genuine responsibility for their part in this wide spread dis functioning is barely apparent. They fail to notice their role in the increasingly dis functional society is as enablers. In fact they tend to vote against their own best interests. Brainwashing will do that.

The Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty that allowed countries that have nukes to have them and has tried (unsuccessfully) to stop other countries from developing them is faulty logic and it does not work: some countries that already in 1960ies had nuclear weapons are today periodically threatening of using them, so these original nuclear powers are not any more reliable than those who made nukes later (which also are not at all reliable, including one that has not admitted having nukes). Let all countries make nukes if they want, and they want if they are threatened by countries that have nukes. Then countries either learn to use peaceful means and not make military strikes on other countries, or (more likely) there will be a nuclear war, but no great loss: human life will survive somewhere among hunter-gatherers in jungle and that may well be best for the world.

But here’s an analogy I would use.

I’ve read the article, and watched some of the video. And I agree, that Jeffery Sachs is an intelligent and articulate and erudite man who’s willing to break some taboos. I also feel, (as I’ve mentioned often), that his efforts to rein in the wars are laudatory and profoundly important.
However, (and you knew I was getting to that ; ),
Jeffery Sachs is willing to get very close to the truths that our wars are not honorable, our government is often malevolent, the media lies, and if you really start to connect the dots, you’ll see that all these things are, well.. connected.
And it is this truth, that I consider to be the most consequential knowledge that a person living today, can be in possession of.
Because the thing that connects all these things, and more.. (like JFK and the wars and acts of terror, like Nordstream, and so many of the other things mentioned in your article, including things not mentioned, like our modern culture, ((such as it is)), is Jews.
If you ask me, I’d say the most consequential knowledge an American ideological defector could enlighten the American public with, is that Jews control, and have controlled our federal government, for over a hundred years, when they first plunged America into its first World War, on behalf of Jews.

John Mearsheimer will say that Israel wields an outsized influence on our foreign policy, but I doubt he’d have the sand to say ‘Jews control our media and Senate and House and White House, and universities, and have done so for generations. I honor what Mr. Sachs has done in trying to rein in the wars, but as we can see, it seems to be too little, and too tepid – even if he is the one anointed to be the voice of opposition to these wars.
If more people would read your work, Mr. Unz.. if it were required reading in our ivy league universities, and you were invited to these ‘prestigious’ panels of thoughtful academics and world leaders, then I wonder if things might be different.

The anthrax mail attacks are the easiest to figure out. Perhaps Sachs should start there. Sachs is an economist and professor; he can’t be expected to go full throttle on the conspiracy behind 9/11.
What is less understandable is why Tucker Carlson is trying to slow-walk his obviously well-formed beliefs on 9/11 and the JFK assassination.
In Dec. 2022, Tucker flatly stated that he had a source within the intelligence community who had seen all of the JFK documents and said “It’s a different country than anyone thought. It’s all fake.” It’s time for a follow-up on this from Tucker…which country Tucker? He drops these innuendos hinting at a conspiracy and then never follows up on them or expresses his real opinions.
Single observation:
based on the polity of real politik and sphere of influence, it’s interesting that Dr. Sachs seems disturbed by the events in the region. Surely he is not denying Israel’s right to act in her best interests in her region of power politics.

Actually I do speak the truth as I see it.
I am under no illusion that my identity is a secret to those who have the power to punish me. Neither do I think that my comments here and there, as what you contemptuously called once a “random commenter,” have the reach and gravitas of someone like Sachs. I hope, however, that they serve in the dialog with other “random commenters” to analyze and critique the limited hangout narratives we are presented, in this case the personification — and thereby delimitation and obfuscation– of responsibility for unprecedented crimes against humanity.

If anything, Max Blumenthal fits more squarely as an example of what you are saying. Blumenthal COMPLETELY IGNORES Israel/Mossad’s role in 9/11 and their orchestration of the JFK assassination. Blumenthal also throws around the “Anti-Semite” label almost as flippantly as any liberal does.
Jeffrey Sachs, by contrast, is a 70 year old Columbia professor, internationally respected, with all of the mainstream pedigree one can think of. Someone with these credentials, saying the things he is saying about Israel, COVID, and US foreign policy, is VERY significant. There are not many people of Sachs’ generation and pedigree that have the level of intellectual honesty that he does.
Max Blumenthal is one voice in a much larger choir when it comes to Netanyahu/Israel criticism. He make some good points and does some interesting work in that regard, but he’s by no means unique or vital. But Blumenthal’s unwillingness to even broach the evidence of Israel’s involvement in 9/11 and the JFK assassination (when most people of his generation will) is one the reasons why a lot of people don’t give his opinions much weight.
